Tallinn’s House of the Blackheads blends late Gothic vibe with Renaissance grace. The White Hall (1532) is regarded as the city’s first Renaissance‑style interior, while St. Olaf’s Guild Hall (1422) retains its medieval atmosphere; the building’s handsome façade was reworked in 1597 by Arent Passer, revealing the confident touch of the Low Countries’ Renaissance right in Old Town of Tallinn.

The Brotherhood of Blackheads, established in Tallinn around 1399, was a notable association of unmarried merchants and shipowners. While the exact origins of the fraternity remain unclear, the oldest surviving document referencing the Blackheads is a treaty with the Dominican monastery in Tallinn dated March 28, 1400.

Over many centuries the rooms of Pikk 26 have seen feasts, concalves and forums, visiting dignitaries, and - meaningfully for us - music. Proportions and finishes of these halls give classical sound a special intimacy, the exact quality that a salon concert thrives on: the audience sits close, the artists speak directly, and the acoustics are warm enough to carry nuance yet lively enough to sparkle. It’s a venue that converys the best what we are going to present you - classical gems delivered by two artists: Ulrich Burdack and Przemek Winnicki, whom we will be welcoming with wide open arms and big bearhugs.

That is precisely what Salon D’Ours is designed to celebrate. This event blends serious pieces with short talks and playful surprises, keeping the evening both welcoming and artistically rich—very much in the Bearty spirit of warmth and community.

About Tallinn Bearty 2026 Music edition: Salon D’Ours the main event and part of our festival weekend April 16–19, exploring social side with queer and bear art across the city.
